Gearing Co has produced a modular tripod system that can be converted into a pair of ski poles

The British company Gearing Co has just released its first tripod system-its goal is to revolutionize the industry. The price of this new tripod may be as high as £1,500 (approximately US$2,087 in the US and US$2,677 in Australia), but its interesting modular design means it can be used not only as a traditional tripod, but also as a pair of skis Rod.

The Gearing tripod system is specially developed for the adventurous photographer. It weighs only 1.4 kg but can hold 40 kg. The Gearing tripod system uses a patented magnetic connection ball head, designed to provide photographers with a quick way to install and remove the camera.

Modular design is one of the main features of this tripod. Almost every part of the tripod can be disassembled, replaced or connected to other things. The modular heart unit is compatible with tripod legs of different sizes. You can assemble it into a full-size tripod, or use it as a desktop tripod with mini legs. The innovative design of the heart unit also means that you can use any leg as a monopod.

Interestingly, the tripod legs can be used as trekking poles by connecting the handles, nails and snow basket included in the kit. If you need it, the tripod legs are also suitable for skiing and hiking.

The attached mini center column provides a minimum height of 20 cm and a maximum height of 160 cm. The center column can also be replaced with a full-size version. Finally, the tripod head that comes with the system has a unique design. It uses a magnetic connection to fix the camera on the ball head. However, if you want, you can also replace it with a traditional tripod head.

Gearing is also proud of the use of high-end materials for this tripod, most of which are made of carbon fiber. The feet are made of tungsten carbide, and the studs are made of stainless steel.

Each part of the tripod can be purchased separately or as part of a kit. The tripod kit can be purchased directly from the Gearing website or in some Leica stores in the UK for £1,500.
