The Lamborghini Urus marketed since 2018 by the manufacturer from Sant’Agata Bolognese, today gives way to the Urus S model, a sharper version of the Italian super-SUV which joins the manufacturer’s catalog the Urus Performante unveiled last August in as part of Monterey Car Week.

With more than 20,000 units sold since its market launch, the Lamborghini Urus has positioned itself as Lamborghini Automobili’s undisputed bestseller. The Urus S, which shares its engine with the new Urus Performante, should only sit this status as the best-selling Lamborghini model in the world.

The Urus S is powered by a 4.0 liter biturbo V8 block developing 666 hp and 850 Nm, which allows it to display a weight/power ratio of 3.3 kg/hp. However, it is slightly heavier than the Urus Performante (47 kg), which, as its name suggests, is more efficient in terms of lap times.

The Urus S is capable of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 12.5 seconds, before reaching 305 km/h at top speed. By way of comparison, the Urus Performante presented in California this summer, completes the 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

To support this performance, the Urus S receives the brand’s adaptive suspension which allows it to offer high performance in all traffic conditions. The STRADA, SPORT, CORSA and EGO driving modes are there for that, as well as the EARTH, SNOW and SAND modes.

Lamborghini has also thought about the personal aspirations of its customers, offering more options in terms of colors, trims, rims, (style) packs and special details, in order to allow them to personalize their vehicle in detail.

Externally, the Urus S, which is fitted with a set of 21-inch wheels as standard (22 and 23-inch models are available as an option), is distinguished by the new design of its front and rear bumpers, and the presence of a new stainless steel skid plate at the front (painted matte black). Five other styling configuration options combine body color, gloss black and carbon fiber components in a gloss and matte finish. A new lightweight painted carbon fiber bonnet comes with air vents finished in matte black, and vents in gloss black. Finally, a carbon fiber roof is offered as an option, and a new brushed steel twin-tube exhaust design is standard at the rear.

The Urus S finally welcomes the passenger compartment, new colors and trimmings. These include the stitching pattern already seen on the Urus Performante (Bi-color Sportivo and Bi-color Sophisticated options), black leather trim accented with contrasting colors, and new ‘Blu Leandro’ and ‘Verde Aura’ shades. « .
