If you’re up for some sailing, a platform like this 72DH (Deckhouse) should fit the bill. Designed and built by Spirit Yachts, this 72-foot yacht lets you harness the power of the wind, while you hang out above or within its modern interiors. Its outline is defined by its “long overhangs, flush decks, and raised coachroof.”

She is one heck of a looker with its mahogany exterior construction with a glossy varnish. Spirit Yachts reveals it is a commission from a client in Europe. The owner plans to use the 72DH for leisure, racing, and more in the Mediterranean.

On the main deck, we have the wheel pilot positioned toward the aft. A table with seating allows you to hang out topside or maybe have a meal and some drinks al-fresco.  This yacht flaunts a Bermudan sloop rig ready for more than just a leisurely cruise.

Its mast and boom are carbon fiber by Hall spars. As for its nitronic rod rigging, the 72DH  uses electric winches from Lewmar. Deck storage for an F-Rib tender and water toys are available as well. Meanwhile, OneSails provides the 72DH’s sail wardrobe

You have an asymmetrical spinnaker, code zero, self-tacking jib, conventional jib, and mainsail. “The headsails are fitted to an electric furler below deck and the asymmetric is attached to a rotating padeye on the bow for short-handed sailing,” notes Spirit Yachts.

When there’s barely a breeze, the 72DH can switch to its Yanmar 4LV150 engine for cruising speeds of up to 10 knots. A generator is likewise on board to power the air conditioning, electric oven, and other electronics. Solbain solar panels are optional add-ons to help recharge the batteries.
